Do I need a visa to travel into Europe now?

Travel into Europe has changed for UK citizens since the finalisation of Brexit.

Previously, when the UK was a part of the European Union, British citizens were permitted to holiday, work and study freely within any EU country.

UK citizens may now only stay in an EU country on holiday for up to 90 days. To gain entry into an EU country, British citizens may now be required to show proof of return to the UK.

In addition, you will need to arrange for travel insurance as you are no longer eligible for free healthcare within the EU.

If you want to study or work in an EU country, you would need to apply for a work or study visa.

Don’t let your British passport expire- always remember to renew it!

UK passports are known to be very powerful and are one of the most sought-after passports to have in the world.

Even if you are a citizen of another country, you should not let your British passport expire as reapplying for one is more complex.

If you have 6 months valid or less left on your UK passport, you should consider renewing it now.
